Back in the early '80's, I saw a Cub Cadet with a big Shovelhead engine turned sideways. I don't know any of the details of the whole powertrain, except that it worked. I have a '60 Cub Cudet that I think I can put the flathead 45" H-D engine in, longways. It is only a concept right now. But, hopefully a project to work on while the rest of the projects take shape.
